How do I know which training is right for me and my dog?
During our initial consultation, we’ll assess your dog’s behavior, your goals, and your current challenges. From there, I’ll recommend the tier that best fits your situation. If you are just looking for a tune-up, want to get a practical feel for how classes will be, or have a very limited budget, I’d recommend the One-On-One training classes.
What’s the difference between Foundational Training and Behavioral Modification?
Foundational Training focuses on building good habits, structure, and basic obedience sufficient to have control and communication before issues arise. We work proactively, not in reaction to the dog, setting them up for future success. It includes things like crate training, leash skills, obedience, impulse control, and teaching the dog how to exist peacefully in your home. Behavioral Modification, on the other hand, is for addressing problems that already exist — like leash reactivity, aggression, fear, or severe anxiety. It’s about rewiring patterns that have already taken hold, and it usually requires more time, more coaching, and more nuance.
My dog is reactive on leash — do I need the Behavioral Modification or is that covered in Foundational?
Foundational training is designed to prevent reactivity by building clear structure and communication. But if your dog is already reactive, especially if it’s been going on for a while, we need to address that first. In that case, we start with Behavioral Modification to resolve the reactivity at its core, then layer in foundational work to give you reliable tools for managing and maintaining progress. That includes teaching your dog alternative behaviors that are incompatible with reacting or expressing aggression.
My dog isn’t aggressive, but doesn’t listen at all. Where do I start?
Sounds like Foundational Training is the right fit for you. In this case, the issue isn’t aggression, it’s communication. We need to build a shared language between you and your dog, and put a structure in place that motivates your dog to listen, respond, and cooperate consistently.
What kind of situations require the Custom Request tier?
This tier is designed for complex setups or high-demand goals. Think multi-dog households, travel preparation, advanced obedience, sport foundations, or a full behavioral overhaul with the goal of achieving off-leash reliability. If your needs go beyond the basics or standard behavior work, this is where we build a fully customized plan from the ground up.
Payment methods and plans
We accept bank transfer, credit/debit card. All payments must be made in advance to reserve your slot. For our training programs, we can offer split payment options after your initial upfront reservation deposit. This is discussed on a case-by-case basis during the consultation.
